Starting your self love journey. So are you new to self love? I totally get it. This Self Love thing can be pretty dam hard. And is not as easy as it sounds right?

But first let’s clarify a few things:

What is Self Love? Starting your self love journey.

This is a topic that can be often misunderstood. Because the misconception is that self love is candles, bubble baths and massages. And yes these are a part of self love, they are an act of self love. The truth is self love is SO much deeper than that.

SELF LOVE IS LEARNING WHAT OUR FEARS AND LIMITING BELIEFS ARE, FACING THEM AND MOVING FORWARD WITH THE CONFIDENCE AND SELF BELIEF THAT’S INSIDE US. GIVING US THE ABILITY TO TAKE THE PATH OF SELF EXPLORATION.

It’s also about HOW you love yourself. Can you answer that question for yourself. So now this is where it can get a little complicated. Because self love is about respecting yourself. Like…

  • How do you speak to yourself?
  • How do you respect your body?
  • Setting boundaries that will serve you best.
  • Are you being really honest with yourself?

And it should be so simple to love yourself right? Nope! Because it takes continuing inner work on ourselves to find self acceptance. But don’t look at it as a lot of work, it’s a powerful and exciting journey that should be enjoyed, even the uncomfortable!

Loving yourself, why is it so hard?

Starting your self love journey. The first step is to take a look at how much you are showing yourself love. Are you saying nice things about yourself? Are you showing respect and gratitude for your body? What do you think about yourself as a person? and Do you believe you are worthy of loving yourself?

Then write them down and be honest with yourself. And remember it’s OK.

Be Mentally kind. Starting your self love journey.

I’ll share the number one thing I had a lot of work to do on when I started my self love journey. And that is comparing myself to others! This is so harmful to your mind, body and soul. We have to remember that we are all UNIQUE just as we are. And this world needs the unique person that you are. So celebrate who you are. Your beauty and uniqueness.

Comparing yourself to others is what will make you feel insecure and unworthy. So why not use someone else’s success as inspiration and motivation.

Start Practicing Gratitude.

We spend so much time thinking about what we don’t have, that we forget to appreciate what we already do have. Now, don’t forget it’s important to have dreams and goals. But remember this moment and all you have right now.
