Being scared and following your heart. Wow, so you have decided to follow your heart and begin creating the life you love. But you are also feeling scared. Can you relate? You don’t feel courageous or confident enough to take things to where you want to go. So how do you follow your heart even though your scared.

Maybe you want to leave a job that is not fulfilling you, or you want to move to a new place for a fresh start. We all reach a place in our life where our souls will let us know that what’s on the outside is not matching the inside of our desires. Our fears tend to keep us guarded on the inside and nice and snug in our comfort zone.

Because I’ll put my hand up, it’s scary stepping into the unknown. But you want to know something, it’s even scarier when we have regrets. Have you noticed when we decide to make changes in our life, we tend to only focus on what could go wrong. And we don’t give a thought to what could go right. Then we just play it safe, thinking that maybe we’re not ready.

But think of it this way. A fear that you feel is only a story. A narrative that you have made up in your mind. You haven’t placed any trust in yourself. With the strength to feel what can go wrong, you also have the same strength to feel what could go right! Here are 4 steps to help you follow your heart. 4 Steps To Follow your heart. Being scared and following your heart.

Expression.

Being scared and following your heart. Talk through your fears with someone like a coach or a therapist. When you say your fears out load, you will feel much better as they no longer have any power over you. This helps you shift your focus from what you don’t want to what you do want.

Journal.

Journaling is a great way you can process fear and kick any anxiety out of your body. So weather you write or type on a computer. The point is to replace these thoughts out of your body and bring in some uplifting new ones.

Become aware.

So what is your fear right now? Go there. This is the place your soul is calling you to move forward to your own personal transformation. The key is, get to know your fears, what are you afraid of? And where did it come from.

Act. Being scared and following your heart.

When you have faced your fears, take small actionable steps every day to get you to where you want to be. This is where you gain confidence and your fears will subside. So embrace your fears and make the decision to act anyway.

So let’s look at some important reminders for our fears:

  • Taking a chance with your desires is better than living with regret,
  • Be aware that things may not turn out perfect, but be OK with that.
  • Train your thought direction to what could go right!
  • Failure does not mean you have lost, but gained strength and wisdom.
  • Your fear is not part of your identity.
